An appointed member of the Board of Retirement, Ernesto Pantoja has nearly two decades of experience and leadership in government affairs and labor relations and is currently the Special Projects Agent for Laborers Local 300. In that role, he directs political affairs for the Local, including coordinating candidate interviews and campaign outreach, as well as lobbying local governments and agencies. Mr. Pantoja also provides business development support by identifying potential job creation projects for Local 300 members. In addition, he is a champion for residents, advocating for public health and safety efforts such as the Exide battery cleanup project.
Mr. Pantoja’s other priorities include coordinating workforce development opportunities through his work with Permacity Empower to provide training to service veterans and disadvantaged workers in solar technology jobs, initiate them into the union, and place them in prevailing wage or union positions.
Mr. Pantoja previously worked at Playa Vista, the largest private mixed-use residential and commercial project in Los Angeles. At Playa Vista, he managed special projects for President Steve Soboroff and oversaw labor relations. He went on to manage labor relations for Ponte Vista at San Pedro, a mixed-use residential project in the South Bay.
He currently resides in the City of Inglewood with his wife and son.
