Shawn is the elected alternate safety trustee for the Board of Retirement and Board of Investments. In addition to serving multiple terms on both LACERA boards, he has served on every committee during his tenure. Shawn has helped champion an improved member services area, ongoing cybersecurity and information technology enhancements, and a fiscally conservative investment portfolio. He believes strongly in sound fiscal policy, prudent board governance, and organizational oversight.
Additionally, Shawn has served the residents of Los Angeles County for more than two and a half decades, currently as a Commander with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. His career encompasses a broad range of experience including detective division, administrative assignments, five patrol stations, and two custody assignments. He Commands Court Services Division. This Division is responsible for over 2000 personnel who provide public safety, bailiff, lockup, and transportation services for 35 Courthouses. Additionally, Court Services is responsible for overseeing the Civil Management Bureau and countywide parking enforcement. The Operating Budget for the Division is $420,000,000.
