Notice of Upcoming LACERA General Member Election
Election time is approaching. An election will be held this summer to fill the following positions:
- Second Member of the Board of Investments
- Second Member of the Board of Retirement
The current terms for these positions expire on December 31, 2026, and the new three‑year terms will commence on January 1, 2027. General Members who were active and in service on April 15, 2026, are eligible to vote in the General Member election.
Eligible LACERA General Members who are interested in becoming a candidate may obtain a nomination packet from the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. Nomination packets will be available on or after May 22, 2026, by contacting the Elections Planning Section at 562-462-2317 or via email at ElectionPlanning@rrcc.lacounty.gov.
To qualify as a candidate, General Members must obtain 50 nominating signatures from active General Members in service on April 15, 2026, as outlined in the nomination packet. Detailed instructions will be included with the packet.
All eligible voters may cast their ballots online, by telephone, or by paper ballot. The election period will run from August 3 through August 28, 2026. Eligible voters with a valid email address on file will receive an email with login credentials and voting instructions at the start of the election period. General Members who do not have an email address on file, or who have an invalid email address, will receive their voting credentials and election materials by U.S. mail prior to the voting period.
