Possible Kaiser Permanente Labor Strike October 14–19
LACERA has been notified by Kaiser Permanente of a potential labor strike involving several Alliance local unions across California, Hawaii, Oregon, and southwest Washington. The strike is currently scheduled to begin Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. and conclude Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 7:00 a.m.
Although Kaiser has been placed on strike notice, this does not necessarily mean a strike will occur. Kaiser has been engaged in good-faith negotiations with the Alliance of Health Care Unions since May 2025 and continues to work toward an agreement.
In the event of a strike, Kaiser has contingency plans in place to help ensure members continue to receive high-quality care. In some cases, Kaiser may need to reschedule non-urgent appointments and procedures. Members will be contacted directly, in advance, if their appointment needs to be rescheduled.
