Update on Kaiser Permanente Strike

Despite efforts to reach a fair agreement, the Alliance of Health Care Unions has begun a strike. Strikes are currently underway in California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Southwest Washington. In California, the strike started on October 14 at 7:00 a.m. and may continue through Sunday, October 19 at 7:00 a.m.
As noted in LACERA’s earlier announcement, Kaiser Permanente has contingency plans in place to ensure members continue receiving safe, high-quality care. Hospitals and emergency departments remain open. Some in-person appointments or procedures may be shifted to virtual visits or rescheduled, and impacted members will be contacted directly.
Kaiser Permanente members in California received an email about potential strike impacts. For the latest regional updates, visit Northern California or Southern California.
