Potential Kaiser Permanente Labor Strike — January 26
LACERA has been notified that the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) has issued a notice of an open-ended strike beginning January 26, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. PT in California and Hawaii. In California, this includes primarily Southern California health care workers such as registered nurses, laboratory professionals, and other skilled staff.
Although UNAC/UHCP has issued this notice, this does not guarantee that a strike will take place. In the event of a strike, Kaiser has contingency plans in place to ensure continued access to safe, high-quality care. Non-urgent appointments or procedures may need to be rescheduled, and affected members will be notified directly.
Members with questions should contact Kaiser Permanente directly or visit kp.org/labor for the latest updates on labor negotiations.
