Kaiser Permanente has notified LACERA that it is preparing for an open-ended strike announced by the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) local unions.

On Friday, January 23, LACERA alerted members to a possible United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) strike.

LACERA has been notified that the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) has issued a notice of an open-ended strike beginning January 26, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. PT in California and Hawaii.

LACERA announced that on December 2, the Board of Supervisors approved an increase to the lifetime maximum benefit for the Anthem Blue Cross I, II, and Prudent Buyer plans.
